Together in Christ

Empowered to Be and Make Disciples

The Gathering of Believers at Calvary

Throughout the history of the church Christians have gathered for corporate worship; to thank, praise, pray, hear the Word of God, and receive God’s gifts through the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion. We recognize this important rhythm of gathering regularly around the Word and sacraments to birth, nurture, and sustain faith.

At Calvary, the sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated at all worship services the first and third weekends of each month and at special festival services throughout the year. We practice open communion and welcome all who believe that Christ is present through the bread and wine and giving His gifts of forgiveness, life, and salvation.

Our worship opportunities each weekend are:

Saturdays 5:30 pm in the Calvary Chapel: The liturgy and hymns vary each week with the use of traditional and more contemporary worship settings. The scripture and sermon at Saturday evening chapel is consistent at all weekend worship services. Special music and instrumentation vary each week and is unique to the weekly chapel service.

Sundays 8:00 am - First Word: This is a more formal, traditional service using different liturgical settings from the Evangelical Lutheran Worship Hymnal. Hymns, accompaniment, special music, and instrumentation vary from week to week.

Sundays 9:45 am Summer, 10:15 am Winter– Foundation and Praise: This service utilizes a wide variety of musicians and varied special music offerings hosting numerous contemporary songs, hymns, and liturgy led by various song leaders, keyboard, piano, and varied other instrumentation.

Calvary members of all ages share their wide array of gifts in our weekly worship in the following capacities: interior decorating, scripture reader (lector), usher, greeter, choirs, song leader, musical accompaniment, sound system and video-projection operation, altar guild, acolyting, and Communion bread-making.
